Job Purpose
The incumbent is responsible for promoting and marketing Power Generation products and providing superior customer service as well as coordinating the technical aspects of pre and post-sales support. This position reports to the Sales Applications Engineer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Promotes and sells Power Generation products and solutions and continuously seeks new opportunities for introducing products to customers
- Placement of customers’ orders and following up on delivery of products
- Handles customer questions, complaints and billing queries with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism
- Manages customers’ accounts within the limits of the credit facilities offered to them in accordance with Company policy
- Collection of revenues and making adjustments to customers’ accounts where necessary
- Verifies inventory wherever the Power Generation products are sold and ensuring availability of product
- Assists in implementing advertising/ promotional campaigns
- Continually maintaining working knowledge of Power Generation products, services, pricing and promotions, participation in training sessions as scheduled
- Makes recommendations according to customer’s needs
- Manages the administrative function and provides support for Power Generation Sales
- Develops proposals and quotations
- Manages and coordinates the preparation of all tender documents, business proposals, and technical reports etc.
- Communicates with vendors regarding custom solution applications and relevant pricing
- Ensures the inventory and division account receivables reports are prepared as scheduled
- Manages project documentation, material, status monitoring, billing and invoicing
- Ensures adherence to supplier and customer directives and programs
- Completes all vendor related training as per individual training plan
- Adheres to the proper safety policies and practices and ISO standards
- Any other related responsibilities assigned by Management
Academic Qualifications, Experience and Soft Skills
- Technical certification or a tertiary level diploma in Business Administration
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the relevant field
- Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products
- Knowledge of Power Generation products and systems would be considered an asset
- Understanding of Electrical and/or Mechanical systems would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge and understanding of warranty policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Negotiation skills
- Local travel requires that the candidate owns a reliable vehicle and uses same for customer site visits as required.
- A valid Driver’s permit.
